ホテル名の「EDIT=編集」をデザインにも踏襲し、ホテルに集まる人々がそれぞれの目的やスタイルに合わせ、思い思いの時間を編集したり、カスタマイズができる空間を目指しています。 ホテルの顔になる1階部分は、フロントやレストラン、ライフスタイルショップ、ライブラリー、会議室などの機能を備えつつ、それらの間にはあえて仕切りを設けずに、ひとつの大きな空間の中で、泊まる・働く・食べる・暮らすといった様々なシーンがゆるやかにつながるシームレスな空間としました。家具や什器は全て可動式になっており、日常のサービスやイベントなどの目的に応じて、フレシキブルに対応できる機能も備えています。 また、共用部や客室の随所にレンガサイズのタイルや落ちつきのあるブルーのカーペットなど、かつて港町として栄えた横浜らしい独自の雰囲気をモダンに表現し、まちに馴染むデザインとすることで、旅行者だけでなく、そのまちに暮らしている人も気軽に訪れやすい空間を目指しています。（杤尾直也／UDS）

We aimed to create the space that can be customized or edited by each user according to purposes or styles, taking on the name of the hotel “EDIT”. The ground floor, that is the face of the hotel, has several functions such as restaurant, lifestyle shop, library, and conference room. We ventured to put no partition among them and made it as one seamless space where diverse scenes softly connect such as staying, working, eating, and living. All furniture is movable and the space is equipped with many functions that flexibly satisfy demands like daily services or events. We expressed the unique atmosphere of the harbor city Yokohama by using brick-sized tiles or deep blue color carpets for public spaces or guest rooms. The design is familiar with the town therefore not only travelers but also local people can easily visit.
